I've used K&N's in the past, and have liked them, but I'm curious what else is out there that people have liked.

While I agree K&N makes awesome filters (and I highly recommend their air filters), I ascribe to the "change often" theory. Any filter will clog, fancy or not (assuming it is doing it's job and stopping debris!). Feel free to spend the cash on a Dealer, Mobil 1, or K&N filter, but no matter what you buy, just be sure to stick to the maintenance schedule.

I buy a cheap name brand, no preference other than NOT Wix, I've seen one of them opened up, and they are terribly made.

Good to know about the Wix. Changing frequently is definitely important. Even with a good filter, I'll still change it every oil change. I doesn't cost all that much for the damage that it can prevent. – mLewisLogic Jan 22 at 23:35

I recommend Purolater PureONE filters. They have very good reviews and always get first or tie for first in all the lineups I've seen.

Filtrex and HiFlo are also very good quality after market brands. I agree that K&N really are very good, just thought I'd mention the others as they are a lower cost alternative, that also match or exceed OEM specs

K&N filters have the best reputation in the industry, hands down. For just a few bucks extra you get a filter that is easy to work with (the hex protrusion is great) and guarantee your engine will keep running smoothly.

Their KN-138 model is what you need for a Suzuki C50. For other bikes, check out K&N's product search tool. Amazon's got free shipping on most of their filters.
