When I ride on the highway, the wind hits my helmet really hard. It's a rhythmic pounding that gives me a really bad headache within just a few minutes. How can I reduce wind buffeting at highway speeds?

IMO, lowers move the air to your legs and away from the gap between the bottom of the windshield and the gas tank. Buffeting is caused by air sweeping up through this gap and meeting the air coming over the top of the windshield. |

I had the same situation. However, I got a full face helmet (25 degrees F is cold on my hour commute) for winter riding and it has eliminated 99% of the buffeting. |

Buffeting is an aerodynamics issue with your bike's setup, and your position on the bike. It is often caused by the wind snapping around an improperly fitted windshield. There are several ways that you can reduce the effects of the wind on you.
