The stock headlight is pathetically dim. What is a brighter headlight bulb for a Suzuki C50?

Hi, the Phillips, Xtreme range of bulbs may be another option you can get the correct bulb for your light fitting and it gives a bit more umph! than any standard bulb. You get two in a pack but, may be cheaper than going the whole hog and replacing a light completely. We had this discussion on the MIG forum and I've gone for the H4 bulb which is the same wattage as per the spec for the bike.

I appreciate the heads up on that Rocky. Going for the two-packs is a pretty good way to save cash, since it's usually cheaper per bulb and you're gonna need a replacement sooner or later. – mLewisLogic Jan 15 at 22:46

I replaced the stock headlight with a Sylvania H3ST SilverStar. It's WAY brighter than stock, and I actually feel safe riding the twisties at night now. The light is also a lot "whiter" making it easier to see people and deer on the road. It costs a bit more than a cheap bulb, by as far as bike upgrades go, its cheap and makes a HUGE difference. Amazon's got it for a pretty good price and free shipping.

Take the old bulb out, do not touch the glass. Take it to an auto parts store, and pick out one that matches the base that you like. They are not proprietary.

Agreed. Touching the glass puts skin oils on the bulb, causing it to burn up/overheat when it's lit. This can kill a bulb in short order. – mLewisLogic Feb 5 at 21:43
